Quizzes and grading

How the Quizmaster checks your understanding, and how grades move your pathway.

Guide · Updated 17 Oct 2026

Reading an explanation feels like understanding. A quiz tells you whether it is.

When quizzes appear

After the Tutor covers an objective, the Quizmaster gives you a short quick check in the chat. You can also just ask: "quiz me on arrays".

Answering

Each question appears in the conversation. Pick your answers and press Submit answers. While it's Grading…, the Quizmaster marks each answer and explains any you missed.

What a grade changes

A graded quiz updates the topic it was about:

  • Score 80% or more and the topic is marked Done.
  • Below that, it's marked Needs review, and the Tutor comes back to it.
  • Your latest score shows in the session panel, and each topic's status shows in Dashboard → Pathways.

Tips

  • Answer before you look anything up. A wrong answer now is cheaper than one in the exam.
  • After a miss, ask the Tutor "why was that wrong?" The explanation sticks better right after the mistake.
  • Practise the topic with flashcards so what you missed comes back.
