Getting started with StudyBuk

Sign in with Google, tell StudyBuk about you, add an AI key and set your first goal.

Guide · Updated 17 Oct 2026

StudyBuk is invite-only for now. If you have an invite, setup takes about three minutes.

1. Sign in with Google

On studybuk.com, choose Continue with Google. StudyBuk uses your Google account only to sign you in. If your email isn't on the invite list yet, you'll see "StudyBuk is invite-only for now."

2. Welcome and About you

The first screen asks what StudyBuk should call you. Then About you asks:

  • What do you want to learn, and why? A sentence is enough, for example "Data structures for my second-year exam in December".
  • Your current level: Beginner, Some experience or Confident.
  • How you like to be taught: for example Step by step or Examples first.

Your study team reads this before every session, so the more honest it is, the better the lessons fit. You can change it later in Settings → Personalization.

3. Your AI providers

StudyBuk is free. Its agents run on an AI provider you choose, with your own key, so you pay that provider only for what you use. You can add a key from:

  • Anthropic (Claude models)
  • OpenAI (GPT models)
  • Google (Gemini models)
  • OpenRouter (many models from one key)

Paste a key and press Test. When it says "✓ Works", the key is saved encrypted. It never reaches your browser again, and you only ever see its last four characters. You can add several providers and pick a model for each agent (Coordinator, Planner, Tutor and Quizmaster). Change this any time in Settings → AI providers.

4. Your first goal

Describe what you want to learn, or paste or attach a syllabus (.md or .txt), then press Build my pathway. The Planner breaks it into topics and objectives, and you're ready to study. You can also Skip for now and start from New goal in your library later.
